Starting out flat and compressed and once soaked in water it will expand to roughly 7 x 12 x 2.5 cm.
The Luffa plant is a genus of tropical and subtropical vines in the cucumber family. The Luffa grows as a fruit and looks much like zucchini's squash or melons while growing on the vines. At a smaller stage the Luffa is edible, and when left to grown out larger the Luffa naturally creates a sponge texture. Loofa sponges are a great alternative to plastic sponges as they are coming direct from nature and will completely compost back into the Earth.
