How to Sanitize + Clean Containers for Reuse
You did it! You hung onto a container instead of sending it to the landfill and now you want to fill it up!
Sanitizing and cleaning containers is an important part of waste reduction and reuse. Our products contain natural ingredients with limited preservatives. Proper cleaning of containers ensures no mold, bacteria or leftover residue contaminates your products. Only fill clean and dry containers especially when using natural face + body products.
Glass and plastic #5 (polypropylene) are best for refilling. Glass is non-porous and easiest to sanitize. The sturdiest plastic is #5 and can be cleaned at high temperatures. We encourage you to save containers made from these materials, but as long as the container is clean + dry we are happy to refill all containers (bags, jars, bottles, tupperware, ziplocks, etc).
